9th March 07; Edale, Mam Tor, Roych Clough, Hayfield, Jacobs Ladder, Edale…and My New Bike!
Today I was joined by 13 other riders from ‘UK MTB Forum‘ and ‘MTB in the Peak District’ (Facebook). As riding goes, it was a tough uphill day, but well worth the effort for the downhills!
We had a range of riders on all different bikes, but what made it better was the obvious passion for riding and just getting out there regardless of age or physical capability. I would also like share that we witnessed a bizarre phenomenom on the ride in the shape of malt loaf (Greg)…. it works wonders, well either that or it was the smell of chips! The ride was rounded off with free chip butties at The Nags Head Edale..much appreciated, thanks!

With respect to my new bike…well I wanted a change and fancied something a bit different….so I treated myself to a new Marin Quake 7.2
It’s a awesome bike which descends with such phenomenal pace, as I had the pleasure to find out on the ride…also ascends really well, but being lazy, I resorted to pushing up hill!

Yeh, nice little write up. I am sure that everyone is please to see something written that isnt by me or Jeff 🙂 Your new bike looks nice, very stealth. How did that route work out? never done that one before.

The route is good, I’ve ridden it a few times now and enjoy it every time. Could do with a few more descents to make up for all the climbing, other than that, its cool!
There was only 2 riders from UK MTB forum, and 2 from both (me n greg) so the rest of the riders came from the facebook group.
It was a good day and a good laugh, I think the chips and the Malt-Loaf incident topped it off, oh, and mine and Shane’s acrobatics while leaving our bikes!!

the one when i just parked my bike the leepfrogged the bars then sat and watched evry one go past. was a great rout but would love a ski lift on the way up the back of jacobs ladder. irwin when you free midweek next should organise something?

Yeh it was a brilliant ride, first time ive done that route! nice to ride with evry1 from the facebook group, makes a nice change having a big group of riders.
