Mountain Biking

Another Derbyshire based MTBing website, co-run by Joe Bowman. It has some funny vids and good articles and write ups from visits to race courses and tracks.

Fearingout - A MTBing website run by riders in the Macclesfield area.

“Information about mountain biking in the East Midlands and Peak District and also some other bike related stuff!” - They have some good XC routes and some funny crash videos too.
ftmb.net - Fat Tyre ezine - “Fat Tyre is a group of like minded people who want to report on mountain biking and support the ’scene’ ” They have reports and articles from the world of MTBing, and often feature good pictures from races, especially the Pearce series’.

A great chat forum with many boards, for things like general stuff, kit, races, media and buying & selling. A great source of info for biking.

One of the best online MTB shops, for all of your biking needs.
TF Tuned Shox - They Providing Tuning, Service and Sales of mountain bike suspension covering all the major manufacturers After dealing with these guys i have been extremely impressed. If you ever need advice they are more than happy to help.
Park Tool Repairs - This website has a “extensive library of repair instructions” which cover the majority of mountain bike repairs making it a great place to start, before you take your bike to bits. Their tools ain’t bad either.

Pearce Cycles Race Page - Has all the details for the Pearce Cycles racing events over in Shropshire.

An annual MTBing event held at Bamford in the heart of the Peak District, it features several XC orientated events, including the infamous Bamford Clough Hill Climb.
Wharncliffe.info - Dig day dates, news and directions, for the now official DH tracks in the Forestry Commission owned Wharncliffe Woods. Also see this detailed guide to the No Human course on nohuman.co.uk.
Ride the Peak - “Ride the Peak is a group open to all with like-minded interests in maintaining and enhancing mountain biking in the Peak District.”

The Collective - The Collective produced their self-titled MTBing film and then their 2nd masterpiece of filming, ROAM.
Stund - A five episode pro video available completely free and downloadable.
Rip Tv - A site streaming extreme sports programs, including Drop In tv. Content changes every 48 hours.

No that isn’t a misprint, I’ve got no idea how to pronounce it but I do know anyone can upload video files for free and there are loads of videos on there for lots of extreme sports as well as MTBing.

MTBCUT.TV - Short videos from the world of mountain biking, covering recent events and other interesting clips.
Xtreme Downhill Racing make some great short movies of regular guys doing their stuff down the mountain side, and cover many of the races in the Midlands and Welsh borders area. They’re also on Youtube and Myspace.

A cool freely downloadable online bike magazine. It has pictures sent in by people for the previous season. Currently located here.
Wideopen Magazine - Another decent freely downloadable online bike magazine. But this ones more race related, with write up from races.
Flipper ~ Mountain bike photography - Loads of great pictures of mountain biking, including pictures from all the rounds of the world cup.

BBC Weather - The BBC’s UK weather forecast. Also check their Hope Valley forecast. They might not get it right, but it gives us something to complain about when we’re getting soaked

Met Office Weather - It’s also worth looking at the Met Office weather forecast as it gives a slightly different perspective on things.
OS Get a map - THE maps to get you around the countryside, this online version of Ordnance Survey’s maps shows a small window but it gives you an idea of tracks, distance, elevation and ‘the lie of the land’.
