– ‘Information about mountain biking in the East Midlands and Peak District and also some other bike related stuff!’ – They have some good XC routes and some funny crash videos too.
- MTB Sharp Peak District Route Files – About 30 Peak Districts routes in Memory Map (.mmo) and Tracklogs (.trl) formats (which requires commerical software), with a few .gpx files that can viewed with Google Earth.
– Ride Sheffield – ‘An advocacy group aimed at using the collective might of Sheffield’s mountain bike community to improve, preserve and promote access interests for Sheffield’s mountain bikers.’
– Bike Garage – The bike shop in Bamford, offering proper Mountain Bike Hire – suitable for on and off-road riding in the Peak District, Bike Repairs and Sales – including Trek bikes. Run by a certain Mr J Irwin.
- 18 Bikes – The bike shop in Hope, opposite the Woodroffe Arms, at the back of the little courtyard.
- Derwent Cycle Hire – Dont have your own bike? Why not hire one from the Fairholmes visitor centre and explore the Upper Derwent Valley. Ideal for beginners.

– Dark & White run mountain bike orienteering/navigation events in the Peak District. – ‘Test both your mountain biking and navigational skills.’
- Peak District Mountain Biking: Dark Peak Trails Guide Book – The well respected guide book from Vertebrate Publishing covering a number of routes in the Dark Peak, with OS maps to make them easy to follow.
- Bolsover & District Cycling Club – MTB & Road Club from North East Derbyshire with a fairly extensive website.
- Facebook Group: Ride Peak District – A group about mountain biking in the Peak District.
- Facebook Group: Sheffield MTB Access – Ride Sheffield – Representing access interests for Sheffield’s Mountain Bikers
- Facebook Group: Mountain Biking in the Peak District – A group dedicated to riding in one of the UK’s biggest national parks; The Peak District.

Local Info & Orgainisations
- Mountain Weather: Peak District Forecast – A detailed text forecast of Peak District whether conditions for high ground.
- BBC Weather Hope Valley – The BBC’s weather forecast for the Hope Valley/Sheffield area. They might not get it right, but it gives us something to complain about when we’e getting soaked.
- VisitPeakDistrict.com – “The Official Tourist Board of the Peak District & Derbyshire” – information for visitors about activies, places to stay, events and more.
- Edale Valley Tourism Association – Information about the Edale Valley and local accodation.
– Hopefully this is the only time you’ll see these guys, they are all volunteers and rely on charitable donations to operate.
– A biker friendly cafe, located in the centre of Hope. A welcome place to stop on long riders and get a pint of tea and talk to other riders.
– Planing on getting an Ordnance Survey map? Why not get a waterproof one that lasts ages from local business Aqua3.

Mountain Biking – General
– A great chat forum with many boards, for things like general stuff, kit, races, media and buying & selling. A great source of info for biking.
– A site with all the UK downhill racing results for easy analysis and comparision, as well as a calender of races and uplift dates. Now with race photos too!
– Pearce Cycles Race Page – Has all the details for the Pearce Cycles downhill racing events and uplifts over in Shropshire.
– Canadian site for all North Shore news, great website, huge links section.
– A Downhill and Freeride Mountain Biking Guide for course video’s, news, reviews, technical documents, and user gallery. With a post of 3 excellent videos every friday.
- IMBA UK – International Mountain Biking Association – IMBA-UK is non-profit group that supports mountain biking in the UK & Ireland, and defends rights of way for MTBs. They work to keep trails and public access open for mountain biking.
– A Guide to Mountain Biking in Shropshire, with information on Hopton, Bringewood, Bucknell and other XC and Downhill trails.
- Park Tool Repairs – This website has a “extensive library of repair instructions” which cover the majority of mountain bike repairs making it a great place to start, before you take your bike to bits. Their tools ain’t bad either.
– They Providing Tuning, Service and Sales of mountain bike suspension covering all the major manufacturers After dealing with these guys i have been extremely impressed. If you ever need advice they are more than happy to help.

– ShAFF (Sheffield Adventure Film Festival) features a variaty of films about outdoor aventure actives, including mountain biking. It’s a yearly event held around the end of February at Showroom cinema in Sheffield. Our short film was shown there in 2008.

- Wideopen Magazine – A decent free to download online bike magazine. Focusing on race news as well other areas of UK mountain biking. The magazine is released every few months in PDF format and the blog is regularly updated with news.
- IMB – International Mountain Bike Magazine – A free online mountain bike magazine published every two months. You don’t need to download it, you view online in a great flash based system.
- Rip TV – A site streaming extreme sports programs, including Drop In tv. Content changes every 48 hours.
- Stund – A five episode pro video available completely free and downloadable.
– A group of filmmakers, photographers, and mountain bikers who have made three epic mountain biking films: The Collective, ROAM and Seasons. All of which are now available on DVD. Random Fact: Seasons features a scenic shot of WinHill in the Peak District.
– A channel on Vimeo, a video sharing site, with videos about Mountain Biking in the Peak District.
- MTB Cut – Short videos from the world of mountain biking, covering recent events and other interesting clips.
