Christmas Riding 2009

[Christmas Eve Ride 07][Christmas Ride 061]In previous years we’ve had Christmas themed rides and boxing day rides, but I don’t think we did one last year. So now is time to plan who wants to join us this year and where and when.

So far Thursday the 24th (Christmas Eve) and Saturday 26th (Boxing Day) are marked for rides. The usual route for Christmas rides is our traditional EPIC loop, comprising 4 or so of the best downhills, which we normally session best bits of. This route will be done on the 26th, no route is planned for 24th yet, suggestions are welcome. Irwin and I are off work after Christmas ’til the 3rd of January, so there may be a ride around the start of 2010 too.

Anyone who knows us is welcome to join us, just leave a comment below.

Meeting at 9.30 at the pump track or 9.50 in Aston, and as with other Christmas ride bring warm clothing/gloves food/drink enough for a full day ride.

    Yeah, but we don’t know what the route will be yet or how long.

    Evening boys. Due to the lack of elbow use i can’t make it 🙁 Have fun though and i’ll be seeing you all soon im sure. Maybe a drink after one of the rides??

    Shame you can’t make it Joe, what’s that, you want to buy us all a drink to make up for it? Sure.
    The Ladybower is a possibility on the 26th if it’s not too cold to stay outside (guarding the bikes) or possibly leave the bikes at Irwin’s and go to the Angler’s in Bamford (assuming that’s ok by Irwin?).

    What do people think about riding in the Win Hill area tomorrow?
    I was up there yesterday afternoon, the snow makes ordinary paths pretty fun. There’s plenty of stuff to ride, the steps & root section, moorland singletrack & wooded section below (which has changed a bit recently), the Thornhill side, etc. It’s easy to get to and easy to escape from if we get too cold, plus there are trees for shelter.
