Back in February, when the ground was wet and muddy, the 8th and final round of the Sheffield Winter Ghetto Dual Race Series went down in some woods in Endcliffe Park. Shane was on on his new Cotic BFe, but was disappointed to come off in qualifying. Irwin qualified, but got knocked out.

The 3rd round of the informal mates race series took place last Tuesday evening in Swinny’s field. In practice it was easy going, but the lines soon got muddy and it was all about holding the slide and staying upright. Of the 16 riders (out of 27) who qualified to race head to head in the dual slalom eliminator, Shane got 5th place and Irwin was 11th. Not only did Shane set the fastest time of the night, but he did it on Jeff’s bike!!! – The long stem and low bottom bracket must have really come into its own.

Dates have been announced for the UK cinema tour of “Lifecycles”, probably the most anticipated mountain bike film ever. The Collective’s new film, the highly anticipated ‘Seasons’, is to be shown in Sheffield at The Showroom, as part of the Tour of a number of cinemas across the UK before the film’s DVD release.

The Showroom is a great venue, it recently hosted ShAFF and is the largest independent cinema outside of London. The date for the showing is to be announced, so we’ll keep you updated. I expect it to will be sometime in May or possibly June. But if you can’t wait that long the UK Premier is to be held at Prince Charles Cinema, London, on the 30th of April.

It is hoped the film will include some of the footage The Collective shot of (HRH) Steve Peat on the No Human Course at Wharncliffe.
